Keelo are small fey that dwell in a variety of climes, living at peace with the natural world, particularly natural magic. They are exceptionally emotional, and their reactions to new situations are always expressive and powerful.

Keelo are short and thin, standing anywhere from 2-1/2 to 3 feet tall and typically weighing 30-40 pounds. Their limbs are long and thin, with the hands possessing three digits and a thumb. Their skin and hair varies depending on the climate they are traveling; hues of green in the forest, white or blue in the arctic, brown and red near the mountains. This skin change is not controlled by the Keelo, and also makes it difficult to determine from where a Keelo comes. Their round eyes possess double lids to protect against the elements, and the color remains constant, with every color of the rainbow represented. In the dark, Keelo eyes glow with a soft light. They prefer to dress in simple clothing, allowing their magic to protect them. Most believe them to be immortal, and the Keelo do not dispute this.

Keelo prefer the company of other fey (particularly elves and centaur), and often make their homes within those communities. Keelo have been increasingly appearing in human communities, often providing magical services. Keelo tend to avoid Dwarves and Pakiri communities, as their love of engineering and technology runs counter to the Keelo philosophy of natural magic.

Keelo most often speak Sylvan, and consider Sol Linaru as their patron. Keelo choose their own names after they learn to speak as children, and often base their names on some facet of the natural and magical worlds.

Keelo Racial Traits

Ability Scores: -2 Strength, +2 Charisma

Size: Small; +1 Armor Class, +1 Attack, +4 Hide in Shadows, Small weapons, ¾ lifting and carrying.

Speed: 20 feet (4 squares)

Vision: Magicsight – a Keelo sees magical auras as if under the effect of a detect magic spell.

Arcane Knowledge: The Knowledge (arcana) skill is always a class skill and they gain a +2 racial bonus on all Knowledge (arcana) checks.

Spell-Like Abilities: 3/day—prestidigitation; 1/day – silent image. These abilities have a Spellcraft check of a level equal to the Keelo’s Hit Dice. Keelo do not suffer channeling damage when using these abilities.

Fey Blood: Keelo are fey, and as such they are not subject to spells that specifically target humanoids, such as charm person or hold person. Likewise, effects that affect fey affect Keelo as well. They possess no particular weakness against cold iron, although they find it uncomfortable to the touch, similar to the sensation of holding a rotting fish in your hand.
